The hostel Baracca Backpacker
is located in the Canton of Ticino in the Italian part of Switzerland. Ticino extends south of the Gotthard pass to the Italian border. Visitors can expect a mild climate, palm trees and Dolce Vita in a beautiful area with an Italian flair. Our hostel is situated in the Maggia Valley about 13 km from Locarno and Ascona.

Arrival information
Take a train to Locarno. From Locarno take bus no. 315(Vallemaggia), get off at Ronchini, cross the main road and walk up the road (approx. 50 m.). Then turn left, follow the signpost 'BACKPACKER' into the forest and cross the suspension bridge. Takes about 15 min. walk to reach our hostel, above the church of Aurigeno. (Please note: if it`s getting dark, take Busstop AURIGENO/MOGHEGNO and follow the signpost to the Hostel
From the highway no. 2 (dir. Germany or Italy), take exit: Bellinzona sud (Locarno/Lago Maggiore), drive through Locarno (tunnel), take exit Vallemaggia/Centovalli and drive into the valley. After approx. 15 min. turn left to Aurigeno/Moghegno and follow the signpost 'Backpacker', the hostel is above the church of Aurigeno.
